Mary Page is the former Director for Human Rights at the MacArthur Foundation where (from 2000 through 2016) she oversaw grantmaking on international human rights advocacy, international justice, and human rights law and culture in Russia, Nigeria, and Mexico. She joined the Foundation in 1990 with initial responsibilities in the Program on Peace and International Cooperation, becoming Associate Director for US Policy in 1997. Prior to her philanthropic work, she was engaged in the development of computer-assisted instruction programs at Stanford University, mathematics education and research at the University of Chicago, and English composition and early childhood curricula at Holt, Rinehart and Winston, publishers, where she was a Senior Editor. Page has degrees from Harvard University and the University of Chicago. She serves on the boards of the Global Philanthropy Partnership and Security Council Report, and is an adviser to Rights in Russia, an online news forum for human rights defenders.
