III Youth Leaders Network
forging a network to fight corruption from the ground up
Launched in July 2021, III’s Youth Leaders Network is a group of young activists, lawyers, speakers, and innovators who are on the frontlines in the battle against corruption in many settings around the world. Members hail from Venezuela, Russia, Lebanon, Uzbekistan, Mexico, Norway, Uganda, Latvia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Tajikistan, Turkey, Peru, India, Germany, Malta, and the United States.
The Network meets virtually 4-5 times a year as a forum for members to present the work they are doing on anti-corruption in their countries, share their successes and struggles, and workshop new ideas. We discuss the connections between corruption and other issues facing younger generations today, including climate change, gender equality, and human rights.
Anti-corruption efforts inherently challenge the vested interests of powerful individuals and networks. It can be dangerous and lonely work. Therefore, an important part of III’s mission for the Youth Leaders Network is to build solidarity across borders and support these individuals and their organizations in their push for change from the ground up. Fighting corruption is a long-term project that will require creative solutions and dedicated changemakers. It is vital that we build an international and intergenerational community to face this challenge together.
